Letter to Friends of Lost Valley

|
2004 Winter

Dear Friends of Lost Valley,

We'll make this short and sweet:

  • Non-profit public-service membership organizations like Lost Valley rely on financial support from their members in order to survive and thrive.

  • A strong network of friends and moral supporters, now numbering in the thousands, is actively involved in, aligned with, benefitting from, and/or contributing to our mission and our work of helping people and the planet toward inner and outer harmony. If you are reading this magazine, you are probably one of them (one of us).

  • Yet our network of financial supporters and official "members" numbers only a few hundred.

  • To Lost Valley, every member, and every donation, makes a difference! Our goal is to build our base of financial contributors past the one-thousand mark. Every dollar you send helps us maintain and expand our ability to offer our unique gifts and services to people from all walks of life.

  • At the end of 2002, in the midst of our last financial crisis, members contributed generously and we emerged stronger. This winter, as we face similar financial shortages and imminent layoffs, we need you to come through again.

  • Beyond short-term needs, we are also moving toward establishing a land trust at Lost Valley to protect the land in perpetuity. Your support will help us toward that goal.

  • All donations are tax-deductible. (And donations made before April 15, 2004 can still be claimed on your 2003 tax return.)

  • Please send us your donation today! See further details here.

  • Money issues aside, please enjoy the rest of this issue. Thank you!

PS: A donation of any size will bring you a year's subscription to Talking Leaves magazine. Also available as membership gifts are copies of The Beetless' Gardening Book , Organic Prayer, Talking Leaves back issues, Richard Oddo art prints, and homegrown organic garlic braids--all available at our offices at Lost Valley Educational Center, and also by mail if you include an extra few $ for shipping costs. (Email or call if you have questions.) We're sorry, but we've exhausted our supply of Talking Leaves and Lost Valley organic cotton shirts. Even if you can't make a donation, your moral support and non-financial appreciation still do make a difference to us. Thank you.
